We know how to unlock the body’s capability to help regrow you own hair.  Taking 4 tubes of  your blood and spinning it at 1900 RPM for 10 minutes to harvest platelet rich plasma and reinject it with tiny needles where your hair is thinning can improve density and help thicken hair in 70-90% of patients.  Three-25 minute treatments performed over 60 days in either one of our offices in 1 or 2 areas will improve density over the ensuing 4-6 months or 2 hair cycles.   Shedding can be a result of stimulating new hair growth that pushes old hair out.
PRP treatments are becoming quite popular now in days, especially for us here at The Paragon Plastic Surgery and Med Spa. With androgenic alopecia becoming a concern to many men and women, PRP has also become a solution for them.

What is PRP?

PRP is short Platelet Rich Plasma, it is one of most recent methods out there for the many types of alopecia. PRP contains growth factors. The way a PRP treatment is done at The Paragon Plastic Surgery and Med Spa, we draw blood from the patient. Place the blood in a centrifuge and let it spin for about 10 minutes. Once ready we only draw the platelet rich plasma leaving the red cells behind. PRP is then injected to scalp or area in which we are treating the patient.

Are PRP treatments painful?

PRP treatments can be a bit discomforting for some patients. Here at The Paragon Plastic Surgery and Med Spa we use local anesthetic before we inject PRP into the patients scalp. We make sure the patient is comfortable before we inject the PRP.

Is there any down time for PRP treatments?

The best part of this preventative hair loss method, aside from it being non-surgical is that there is NO DOWNTIME! PRP treatments can take up to an hour to be done but you can resume normal activities right after.

Who can get PRP treatments?

The ideal candidate for PRP treatment are those men and women who have recently discovered hairloss/shedding. Research has shown that PRP can also work for women who have suffered hairloss due to tight braids, and ponytails. PRP is not for people that are completely bald.

Where can i get a PRP treatment done?

Hair transplantation has been around for quite some time now. From FUT’s, manual FUE to what now has become the best technique ROBOTIC FUE. Yes! it is an actual robot!. Dr. Mark Bishara has performed the most Robotic FUEs in the world. It is definitely a huge upgrade in the world of hair restoration.

Artas Robot

The ARTAS Robot was cleared by the FDA in 2011. The ARTAS Robot allows Dr. Mark Bishara to maneuver the robot to dissect the best follicular units. The robot is equipped with multiple cameras to help capture the best video and images of the patients hair.  The robot does the dissecting part of the procedure.   The follicular units are checked for quality as the robot dissects and the units get extracted. The robot is built to make recipient sites as well, once the sites are made and the follicular units are checked the planting begins. The new hair is then planted on to the patients recipient area. Local anesthetic is used to help with any pain and discomfort along with Valium to help the patient relax. The ARTAS Robot cuts down on time from a FUT procedure. Instructions on how to care for the new hair is provided before and after the procedure.
Dr. Mark A Bishara is the only known physician to own 3 ARTAS Robots that exclusively uses them in north Texas and has done more FUE procedures with the robot in the world. As if that isn’t enough Dr. Mark Bishara has great bed side manners. He is a great listener and is very attentive to patient needs. He works out of 2 offices located in Mansfield and Southlake to make it more convenient for his patients.

Another source to hair loss is hormonal change! It is known that hair loss due to hormonal imbalances can cause you to lose hair. Pregnancy and child birth are some of the causes of hormonal imbalances as well as thyroid problems.
Medications! Most people may not know but there are some medications that can cause some hair loss. Medications used for depression, cancer, hypertension, and heart problems are some! Vitamin A is another cause to hair loss. Intaking too much Vitamin A puts your hair at risk!  Even low levels of iron, thyroid, and low Vitamin D levels can cause hair loss.

Beard Craze!

Facial hair transplantation has become quite popular here at The Paragon Plastic Surgery and Med Spa. Beard transplantations to be exact. As not all men are blessed with having a full beard. Some have patchy beards some have non at all. Well with this full beard craze happening Dr. Mark Bishara has the solution for you!

The Works!

So now you wonder how? Well as you might have heard of hair transplants, beard transplants work the same only difference is that its going on your face. When performing beard transplantation Dr. Mark Bishara uses the same technique as with hair. Beard transplants typically take around 300 to 800 follicular units. Dr. Mark Bishara uses the ARTAS robotic system to take the hair from the donor area. Before starting the ARTAS robot Dr. Bishara will assist you in drawing in the beard design you like. The Paragon Plastic Surgery techs will shave the back of the head which is where the hair being transplanted is typically taken from. The ARTAS robot will then be started, you will sit in prone position  as the robot does the disecting part. Don’t worry, we use local anesthetic to minimize pain and discomfort. As the robot is disecting one of Dr. Mark Bishara’s techs will begin to check the follicular units for quality. Once the disecting is done, you will be laid on your back and Dr. Mark BIshara will numb the beard and mustache area to begin making the recipient sites. Once Dr. Mark Bishara is done the techs will begin planting the follicular units that were extracted on to the new recipient area.

The waiting game

The procedure is done and your now ready to go home and play the waiting game. As everything begins to heal small scabs around the recipient sites will begin to form and should only last about 4 to 5 days. Medications are prescribed to help with any pain/sleep as well as antibiotics to help prevent any infection. Two weeks after the beard transplant the hair transplanted will begin to fall out. Don’t panic that is absolutely normal! At around 3 months after the beard transplantation your new beard will begin to grow and last a lifetime!

Finding the Right Hair Dr!

Robotic devices are more commonly used for many different types of surgical procedures. One being Robotic Fue, which just happens to be one of Dr. Mark. A. Bishara’s top procedures at the Paragon Plastic Surgery and Med Spa. Dr. Mark. A. Bishara has done many robotic FUE’s. From Hair transplantations to beards and even eyebrows. As tedious as it sounds Dr. Mark A. Bishara and his staff at the Paragon Plastic Surgery and Med Spa are very professional and experienced.

The Invention

Restoration robotics is a medical device company who created  a robot called the ARTAS to help assist in hair transplantation. The Artas Robot consists of a chair in which the patient would sit through out the whole hair transplantation. Aside from the chair is the actual Artas Robot which Dr. Mark A. Bishara controls using a computer. The   Artas Robotic device has been FDA cleared.

What it does

The Artas Robot has a robotic arm which is being controlled to dissect hair follicles from the back and sides of the scalp. In order for the robotic arm to detect the patients hair, Dr. Mark A. Bishara staff shaves the back of the patients head. Unlike the traditional strip removal of the patients donor area the Artas Robot is designed to perform a follicular unit extraction using a special 0.7 to 1mm diameter tool. That only means one thing, no linear scar. The cuts using the Artas Robot will leave a scar that is barely visible to the naked eye.
