Xeomin is taking on the Botox world with being the new neoromodultor out on the market today.   Xeomin is FDA approved in treatment for the glabellar lines, it is consider the next generation of neurotoxin.  Here at Paragon Plastic Surgery we off both Botox and Xeomin to our patients.
Getting down to knowing what exactly Xeomin and Botox consist of:
Xeomin has the same parent molecule as Botox which is the oncobotulinum toxin A, but Xeomin is manufacture in a way that the product is more purified. Unlike Botox, Xeomin does not have a preservative protein. Once Botox is injected, the botulinum molecule beginning freeing itself from the preservative protein before its free to bond with the muscles. Once bonded the muscle begins to relax then causing the wrinkle to fade away. Xeomin does not have preservative protein making it immediately available to the muscle receptors, binding immediately with reducing wrinkles at a steady and fast pace.
Botox and Xeomin have been reported to have a different feeling to each other. Xeomin has a much lighter feel and more natural than botox. Xeomin you can still maintain a little bit of motion in the facial features and eyebrows. Botox can be a bit stronger sometimes causing the frozen look, limiting muscle movement to a greater degree.
At Paragon Plastic Surgery and Med spa, Dr. Mark A Bishara has options to fit anyone desired results!   For patients that would like a little to no movement we would recommend Botox. It will have a feeling of a heavy sensation that some patients desired.  If you want a more natural movement with facial function with limiting the facial lines than Xeomin will be a great choice!
Botox and Xeomin both a safe for the face area, commonly utilized in the forehead, crows fee, around the mouth and additional around the next. Bruising usually doesn’t happen but we do provide arnica for the swelling and bruising if it does occur.

Actavis + Allergan

Allergan Strengthens Med Derm & Aesthetic Portfolio with Acquisition

We are pleased to announce the completion of our acquisition of Anterios Inc., a privately-held biopharmaceutical company focused on developing topical botulinum toxin-based prescription products for medical dermatology and aesthetic medicine. This acquisition demonstrates Allergan’s ongoing commitment to the advancement of treatments in the medical dermatology and aesthetics space and is a prime example of Allergan’s Open Science R&D approach. We will seek to maximize the potential of Anterios’ platform technology NDS™ that enables local, targeted delivery of botulinum toxin across the skin without injections. Additionally, Allergan has acquired the rights to Anterios’ Phase 2 program ANT-1207, a botulinum toxin topical lotion, for the potential treatment of hyperhidrosis, acne, and crow’s feet lines.

The addition of a topical botulinum product will allow us to have the most comprehensive medical dermatology and aesthetic offering in the industry. We see ANT-1207 as a complementary product candidate to our existing portfolio, further strengthening Allergan’s neurotoxin pipeline and presence in some of the fastest growing segments in the aesthetics space—injectables, contouring and skin care. By offering alternative topical treatment options, we are expanding our market to reach a wider range of patients and physicians alike, who may be seeking an alternative needle-free option.
With the ANT-1207 programs currently in early-stage clinical studies, we will be able to leverage more than 25 years of botulinum expertise to fully shape the development process from the beginning and optimize the potential commercialization of this innovative product. We will be actively exploring what future indications should be pursued.
With your partnership, I am excited about the potential impact NDS™ and ANT-1207 may bring to you, your patients and the medical dermatology and aesthetic community. Most importantly, I want to thank you for your continued support of Allergan throughout a year of significant and exciting changes. We look forward to continuing to support you and your patients in 2016 and beyond.
Regards,

Philippe Schaison

The holiday season with all its parties, family gatherings, and New Year’s resolutions can be stressful for men and women of all ages because this is typically a special time when they want to look and feel their best despite all the stress frequently associated with holiday events.
Dr. Mark A. Bishara, M.D. P.A. and his staff at The Paragon Plastic Surgery and Medspa can help each individual man or woman look and feel their best for all holiday events coming up.  Dr. Bishara takes the time to cultivate individual relationships with his patients in order to assure that they receive their desired look.  He uses the term “patient” because he says, “I feel the term patient is a more personal and appropriate term because I am working with people in personal ways.”
In his new state-of-the art facility completed in 2014, he offers the full gamut of cosmetic procedures such as robotic hair restoration, breast augmentation, tummy tuck and a variety of laser procedures. The calming music and soothing décor of his new facility create an atmosphere to ease the nerves of any anxious patient.  “Sometimes patients come in extremely nervous, and my goal is to provide a calming, relaxing environment to reduce their anticipated anxiety,” he said.  Additionally, Dr. Bishara takes the time to listen, discuss and explain all treatment options before outlining an appropriate treatment plan.
In his Paragon office in Mansfield, Dr. Mark A. Bishara, M.D. P.A. offers “Wrinkle-Free Wednesday.”  Patients can come in for Botox and Xeomin treatments at discounted rates.  It’s easy to see why this is the most popular and busiest day of the week for Dr. Mark A. Bishara, M.D. P.A. and his staff.  He treats hundreds of patients seeking these non-invasive, preventive procedures from 8am until 8pm.  “We go through enough Botox to remove every single wrinkle from an elephant’s skin,” he grinned, “but my goal is for them to still look like themselves,” he explained.
Also, as an AAAHC certified facility and dual trained surgeon, he can provide acute care as well as cosmetic surgical services.  His goal is to make sure that every patient’s needs are satisfactorily and effectively met.  In the spirit of giving this holiday season, Dr. Mark A. Bishara, M.D. P.A. plans to open a combined clinic that will offer reduced rates for general surgical procedures including lumpectomy, advanced laparoscopic hernia and gallbladder procedures, and varicose vein ablation.
“The current medical system in this country is not sustainable.  Hospitals and surgery centers charging $11,000 for a 15-minute procedure is simply not feasible when it could be offered at a more reasonable price,” he said.  These large centers are sometimes bound to hold pricing high due their contracted rates with insurance companies.  As a responsible physician, he wants to provide clinical services that promote and foster a medical system that is sustainable and affordable.  That is why he has announced the addition of four advanced laparoscopic surgeons to the staff at the Paragon Surgery Center in Mansfield.  Surgical procedures are now being offered to all patients state-wide for a cash price that is often less than some deductible plans.  Although this system is intended to be cash based, some patients will still be able to submit the charges for reimbursement through their out of network benefits.
As his services continue to grow and expand, Dr. Mark A. Bishara, M.D. P.A. has two other locations for the convenience of his patients; Southlake and North Park.
As the holiday season and the new year approach, let Dr. Bishara and his staff help you look and feel your best.  Call one of his three convenient locations at 817-473-2120 or email appointments@markbisharamd.com to make an appointment and ensure that you enjoy the holidays knowing that you truly look your best!

Necklift [ Platysmaplasty ]

What Is A Necklift
Depending on your individual concerns, there are a different types of necklift procedures to choose from that can help improve the appearance of your neck:

It is common to combine a necklift procedure with other cosmetic surgery such as a facelift, chin lift or any procedure that improves the jawline, jowls and cheek area, which might involve liposuction.
During a necklift, one-inch incisions are strategically placed under the chin and/or behind the ears to tighten up neck muscles that have become loose over the years. Patients with greater laxity may require a longer incision behind the ears.
The procedure, usually performed under local anesthesia with IV sedation, first releases the muscle from the skin before the neck muscles are pulled tight. After the skin is tightened, excess skin is eliminated through additional incisions around the ear. This can provide a very dramatic improvement to the neck, and it’s frequently performed as part of a facelift.
A cheek lift and necklift—in which lax muscles are tightened and elevated to a more youthful position—combined with liposuction along the jawline can permanently restore definition to the lower face.
Excess neck skin removal (called cervicoplasty) is performed by making an incision under your chin and behind the ears. The surgeon will then cut back and lift the skin, which will be secured with permanent sutures or a special type of permanent adhesive glue.
Another necklift procedure, platysmaplasty, is performed to reduce the banded appearance of the neck. During the procedure, incisions will be made under the chin or behind the ears, or both. The surgeon will then insert a tiny instrument to either remove a portion of specific neck muscles or realign them, which will tighten the middle area of the neck. As with a cervicoplasty, your doctor will suture areas of the muscles in order to clasp them in the best position.
