Beard Craze!

Facial hair transplantation has become quite popular here at The Paragon Plastic Surgery and Med Spa. Beard transplantations to be exact. As not all men are blessed with having a full beard. Some have patchy beards some have non at all. Well with this full beard craze happening Dr. Mark Bishara has the solution for you!

The Works!

So now you wonder how? Well as you might have heard of hair transplants, beard transplants work the same only difference is that its going on your face. When performing beard transplantation Dr. Mark Bishara uses the same technique as with hair. Beard transplants typically take around 300 to 800 follicular units. Dr. Mark Bishara uses the ARTAS robotic system to take the hair from the donor area. Before starting the ARTAS robot Dr. Bishara will assist you in drawing in the beard design you like. The Paragon Plastic Surgery techs will shave the back of the head which is where the hair being transplanted is typically taken from. The ARTAS robot will then be started, you will sit in prone position  as the robot does the dissecting part. Don’t worry, we use local anesthetic to minimize pain and discomfort. As the robot is dissecting one of Dr. Mark Bishara’s techs will begin to check the follicular units for quality. Once the dissecting is done, you will be laid on your back and Dr. Mark BIshara will numb the beard and mustache area to begin making the recipient sites. Once Dr. Mark Bishara is done the techs will begin planting the follicular units that were extracted on to the new recipient area.

The waiting game

The procedure is done and you are now ready to go home and play the waiting game. As everything begins to heal small scabs around the recipient sites will begin to form and should only last about 4 to 5 days. Medications are prescribed to help with any pain/sleep as well as antibiotics to help prevent any infection. Two weeks after the beard transplant the hair transplanted will begin to fall out. Don’t panic that is absolutely normal! At around 3 months after the beard transplantation your new beard will begin to grow and last a lifetime!

What To Expect From Procedure

Consulting with an awesome doctor like Dr. Mark Bishara is the first thing you want to do.Although you might have an idea on what you?d like to look like after its also good to ask Dr. Mark Bishara for his recommendations. At your consultation at the Paragon Plastic Surgery and Med Spa we use 3d imaging to determine what is best for you, from sizes and implant types. Implants come in forms of saline and silicone. After choosing between silicone and saline you will then choose size and form. Dr. Mark Bishara will then recommend where to place the implant, if below or above the muscle.

DAY OF THE PROCEDURE

Breast Augmentation is an outpatient procedure. It can take between one and two hours. On the day of your breast augmentation Dr. Mark Bishara will go over the surgical procedure again. An iv will get started and you will be placed under general anesthesia.

DURING THE PROCEDURE

After being put under general anesthesia, Dr. Mark Bishara will begin. During the procedure Dr. Mark Bishara will make cuts under the breast and begin the insertion of the implants. Once the implants are put in place Dr. Mark Bishara will close the incisions with a suture, Throughout the whole surgical procedure Dr. Mark Bishara’s nurses will be monitoring the patients blood pressure, temperature, pulse and oxygen.

AFTER THE PROCEDURE

After your Breast Augmentation surgery is complete, the anesthetist will wake you up from your induced sleep. You will then be transferred to the recovery room where our experienced nurses will monitor you until you are fully awake. You may feel a little tired and groggy at this point. Supporting bandages will be wrapped around your chest along with a surgical bra that we provide here at the Paragon Plastic Surgery and Med Spa.  Soreness and swelling are very common to be there for a few weeks after your breast augmentation. Bruising is normal as well. Scars will begin to gradually fade over time.

Tips

The patient should have someone to drive them home the day of their procedure and have someone help throughout the first 24 hours.  To reduce any swelling and pain you should sleep upright for the first 48 hours. House work should be done prior to your breast augmentation procedure or put on hold at least for a week after. Loose fitting clothing and ice packs will come handy after your breast augmentation procedure. Stay well hydrated, make sure to drink plenty of water during your recovery process.

Respectfully yours,

Who is a candidate for Breast Augmentation?

When thinking about a Breast Augmentation the ideal candidate must be over the age of 18. The patient should also be in good health and have reasonable expectations for their Breast Augmentation surgery.  Women that are breast feeding or who have been pregnant in the last 3 months are not ideal candidates.

Should i be at an ideal weight for a Breast Augmentation?

A stable weight is highly recommended when opting to a Breast Augmentation. Weight loss after a Breast Augmentation can alter the results and can be unsatisfying. Weight gain can cause a significant increase in breast size.

Can pregnancy affect my Breast Augmentation?

Typically after a pregnancy women can experience some sagging and deflation after a Breast Augmentation. It can cause a significant change in size and appearance in general.

Will a Breast Augmentation interfere with breast feeding?

In comparison with non- breast augmented women, when having a breast augmentation there is a higher risk of lactation insufficiency.

Should i wait until I’m done have children for a Breast Augmentation?

If breast augmentation is something you have been looking into doing you don’t necessarily have to wait. Many women have done a Breast Augmentation before having children. Although if you planning on becoming pregnant within a year or two after surgery, the breast augmentation is recommended to be postponed after the surgery.

Can having a  Breast Augmentation cause stretch marks?

When inserting implants their could be some stretch marks but its not very common. You can minimize the risk of stretch marks by going with a moderate size implant.

Will my chest be wrapped my after Breast Augmentation?

After breast augmentation surgery you will leave the office with an ace wrap and and a fluff dressing that can be removed after 2 days when a shower is necessary.  After showering, Dr Mark Bishara recommends using a post-surgical compression bra.  Dr Mark Bishara does not recommend under wire bra for 3 months after surgery.

What bra should i use after my Breast Augmentation?

Following your breast augmentation surgery you want to avoid under wire bras for 3 months. You want to make sure to wear a soft comfortable bra, a bra strap on the top of the bra, or a sports bra that can be worn regularly or rolled up to place downward pressure on the breasts.  This facilitates the “dropping” process that occurs between months 2-10.

Where to find a good doctor for my Breast Augmentation?

Finding a good cosmetic surgeon can be quite difficult, results vary even amongst the most season cosmetic breast surgeons…but i’ll help you out a bit. Dr. Mark A. Bishara at the Paragon Plastic Surgery is a fantastic surgeon! Dr. Mark A. Bishara has done hundreds of Breast Augmentation surgeries, and the results are just phenomenal!

Making the decision to get a Hair Transplant was a huge step. Now its done and now comes the waiting game for your new hair to grow in. As with any surgical procedure come post operative instructions. Here at the Paragon Plastic Surgery and Med Spa, Dr. Mark A. Bishara has made sure to have a list with step by step instructions to follow after your Hair Transplant surgery.

All done….

After your Hair transplantation you will be tired as you will be sitting all day and still have sedative in the your body (at least most patients). At the Paragon Plastic Surgery and Med Spa we make sure we answer all questions about your Hair Transplantation surgery, as well as Dr. Mark A. Bishara. What to do and what not to do..

1. DO NOT lean over to tie your shoes or pick-up objects for the first 48 hours, as this may provoke bleeding.
2. DO NOT drink any alcoholic beverages for 2 days following the transplant procedure, to avoid excessive bleeding. Also avoid the use of marijuana or other chemical substances not prescribed, for one week following surgery.
3. If bleeding occurs in the donor area, apply firm, steady pressure for 20-30 minutes.Repeat if necessary. If bleeding persists, locate the exact bleeding point and apply pressure directly to the area with an ice pack. If bleeding continues, contact us or your family physician. If you are out of town, go to the nearest emergency department. If he/she has any questions, they should call Dr. Bishara at 877-70- NEW LOOK any time day or night.
4. Take your medication for pain at the first signs of discomfort. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL YOU HAVE PAIN. Take one tablet approximately 20 minutes before retiring for the evening. Take this medication with food.
5. Sleep with your head elevated on two or three pillows for 2 days. We have provided you with disposable pillowcases for use on your top pillow.
6. Crusts (scabs) will form over the transplant sites and solidify the first few days. These crusts will naturally fall off within 1week. DO NOT pick at these crusts at anytime.
7. You may develop some post-operative edema (swelling) of the forehead and eyes for up to 2-3 days post-op. Ice packs can be applied to the forehead area. Do not apply ice to the grafts. This is not serious and resolves itself spontaneously. We have applied tape across your forehead to reduce swelling. If in the unlikely event you have fever, redness or pain call the doctor immediately.

Ever debate whether to do a cosmetic procedure but nervous on what the result will be like? Let me introduce you to VECTRA 3D! VECTRA 3D was designed to help not only doctors but also the patients when discussing expecting results on their cosmetic procedure.

What is VECTRA 3D?

The VECTRA 3D simulator was developed by Canfield Imaging Systems with the purpose of giving the patient and doctors a better visualization on expected results of the procedure the patient has in mind of doing.

How exactly does the Vectra 3D work?

What the VECTRA 3D does is capture 3D photographs of the patient when coming in to the Paragon Plastic Surgery and Med Spa. The three dimensional photographs are taken at different points of views in order to create a virtual model of the patient.

How are the VECTRA 3d photos used?

Using the 6 still shot photographs the VECTRA 3D has taken a 3D model is automatically created.  It will be used as “before” photos. The VECTRA 3D will then display the patients own virtual model on the monitor. The model can be maneuvered on the screen giving Dr. Mark A. Bishara the ability to virtually enhance  the area in the body the patient desires. Dr. Mark A. Bishara can easily enhance the breast changing the size and shape, as well as facial features. He can show an image of the face being tightened, smoothed and resized! Fascinating huh?

CAN THE VECTRA 3D DETERMINE MY CANDIDACY?

Unfortunately no, the purpose of the VECTRA 3D is to help the patients determine and express the results they anticipate. During consultation and reviewing your medical history Dr. Mark A. Bishara will then determine if you are indeed a good candidate.

How accurate are VECTRA 3D images to actual results?

Results may be very similar to the simualtions. Vectra 3D simulations are based on the surgical techniques Dr. Mark A. Bishara uses during the surgical procedure.

Where to get more information on VECTRA 3D imaging?
