Men and women of all ages, shapes, and sizes struggle with areas of unwanted fat on both their bodies and faces. In the past, surgical procedures such as facelifts or tummy tucks were the only ways to solve this issue. With time, technology has become more advanced and options become more alternative. 10 years from now, Radio-Frequency technology will likely replace many of the surgical procedures that our Plastic Surgeons are performing with a knife today.

Let’s take a look at one of the more popular body contouring options in the market today: CoolSculpting. CoolSculpting uses an older technology, Cryolipolysis, to remove areas of stubborn body fat by freezing the fat cells from specific parts of the body. While CoolSculpting is non-invasive and has ultimately no downtime, it is less customizable, and does not actually tighten the skin like some of the newer technologies offered. CoolSculpting can take up to 8-12 months to see optimal results, and candidates will typically need 2 or more 35+ minute sessions to achieve 20-25% fat reduction.

While there are other body contouring technologies out there, the new AccuTite, BodyTite and FaceTite devices are the future within minimally-invasive body contouring for patients that need precision fat reduction, skin contraction, and tissue remodeling. The AccuTite is the smallest minimally-invasive radio-frequency contraction device on the market today and can be used to shape multiple areas on the face (FaceTite) and body (BodyTite).

BodyTite & FaceTite use minimally-invasive Radio-Frequency Assisted Lypolysis (RFAL) to produce skin-tightening results while stimulating the body’s own collagen production. During these procedures, fat and tissue are heated and extracted using light vacuum pressure through minimally-invasive incision sites. The skin is then tightened and remodeled to create a smoother look using the Radio-Frequency energy that is 100% concentrated at the treatment zone.

BodyTite & FaceTite are great solutions for individuals who are looking to reduce fat and tighten skin without the downtime or visible scarring associated with other fat-reduction surgeries. The results from both BodyTite & FaceTite can be visible instantly and only require one treatment at the desired area to achieve up to 40% skin contraction, as shown in peer-reviewed clinical studies. While these procedures can be less affordable than other cosmetic options, this new technology can essentially save money in the sense that individuals can go back to work as soon as the next day.

Dr. Mark Bishara, who completed a fellowship appointment at the world-renowned Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Harvard Medical school affiliate, gained state-of-the-art skills in body contouring after massive weight loss. Here at Paragon Plastic Surgery & MedSpa, Dr. Bishara offers minimally-invasive face and body contouring with the new BodyTite & FaceTite technologies in both of his Mansfield, Texas and Southlake, Texas locations.

Changes in the skin are among the most visible signs of aging. Evidence that we are getting older can be seen in the fine lines, wrinkles and sagging skin on the neck, arms and breast areas among others. There was a time not too long ago where the only real solution to this problem was surgery that removed some parts of the loose skin. In 2019, we now have some state of the art skin remodeling solutions that work wonders by removing fat, tightening skin and improving overall appearance without surgery.

In our practice we are now using radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis (RFAL), a relatively new concept in energy-assisted body contouring techniques. People who want to contour, lift, and tone their abdominal area, breasts, face, neck, arms, thighs and/or knee areas can now do so with a small incision point, no scarring or stitches. These devices uses precise radiofrequency energy to firm the tissues and tighten the skin. This also has the effect of stimulating the body’s own collagen production, helping with overall elasticity and smoothness. Traditional liposuction can also be performed in conjunction with these procedures if more body contouring is needed.

The RFAL tools we use in our practice are BodyTite and FaceTite by InMode. FaceTite is a minimally-invasive contouring solution for the face as well as smaller areas of the body. This procedure is safe and effective treatment that provides patients with significant aesthetic changes. If you’ve considered a facelift this is the next best thing toa facelift. Built-in safeguards, including real-time measurements of your skin and fat temperature help ensure patient safety and the RFAL technology creates three-dimensional remodeling of the tissue. FaceTite provides unprecedented skin contraction, up to 36% as shown in peer-reviewed clinical studies. The procedure also addresses loose skin typically remaining in the treatment area that other treatments cannot target. The result is nicely contoured skin.

BodyTite is the latest advancement in body contouring techniques. This is a procedure that is performed to treat loose skin or sagging body parts such as the breast and underneath the arms. The device uses precise radiofrequency energy to firm the tissues and tighten the skin. It also stimulates the body’s own collagen production. Traditional liposuction can leave skin loose and sagging in some cases. For this reason, BodyTite is often performed in conjunction with liposuction to provide an optimal result for the patient. Like FaceTite, this procedure is minimally invasive, with essentially no scarring and no stitches required.

For both of these new treatments, results can be seen immediately, with best results noticeable after 6 months, and continuing up to 12 months. Depending on the treatment area, downtime can be as little as just a day! Is a facelift too invasive for you but you would still like to experience dramatic results that you thought only a fountain of youth could acheive? Here at The Paragon Plastic Surgery & Medspa, you can receive a combination of Ultherapy and injectable wrinkle/filler treatments, such as Botox, Radiesse, or Juvederm, to create a fresh, vibrant new you. These treatments all offer a different course of action in providing a more youthful look for our patients, but when combined, they work synergistically to create a harmonious result that both works on a soft tissue and muscular level.

Before and After Botox & Juvederm Voluma

Botox, for example, combats wrinkles on a muscular level by minimizing muscle contraction and relaxing hyperactive muscles. Alternately, filler is used to add volume to designated areas on the face while Ultherapy works on a tissue-level to stimulate collagen, lifting and tightening the skin as a result. As you can see, this combination of preventing the muscle contraction that causes wrinkles with Botox, adding volume with Filler, and tightening the skin with Ultherapy, have the power to create a balanced and complete look that would not be achieved from just doing one treatment by itself.

Ultherapy - Face

How long you should wait in between each treatment, and in what order they should be done, is an opinion that varies from doctor to doctor. At our own Paragon Plastic Surgery & Medspa, Dr. Mark Bishara recommends waiting about two weeks after Ultherapy to receive any injections. This short wait time will give any swelling that may happen as a result of Ultherapy time to settle so that how much filler/Botox needs to be used can be determined. This incredible combination of treatments yields fabulous results that can be yours! Call us now to schedule a consultation with Dr. Mark Bishara to discuss this as an option for you.

Ultherapy
Do you need a lift? Are you looking in to doing something for the loose skin on your neck or jowls but are not ready to go under the knife? Ultherapy might be the treatment for you! Ultherapy is the only non-invasive treatment that is FDA-cleared to lift the skin on the neck and under the chin and the eyebrow. It is also newly approved to treat the lines and wrinkles on the décolletage. Here at Paragon Plastic Surgery and Med Spa, Dr. Mark A. Bishara and his staff along with Ultherapy can give you a more youthful, natural looking you!
How does it work?
Ultherapy uses safe, time-tested ultrasound energy to stimulate collagen production. The energy is specifically delivered to the same layer treated during a face lift without cutting or harming the surface of the skin. The ultrasound energy heats the layer between 60-70 degrees centigrade that triggers Neo-collagenesis.
What to expect?
Depending on the area being treated, the treatment may take 60-90 minutes to perform. Your skin will be cleansed and marked appropriately for the area to be treated. As the ultrasound energy is delivered you may feel some mild to moderate discomfort. It is recommended to take some over the counter pain relievers before your treatment and comfort levels vary from patient to patient but the sensation only lasts while the energy is being delivered. You may have some slight redness and swelling that dissipates within a few hours. Some patients may experience  tenderness and bruising that may last a few days.
How many treatments do I need?
Most patients only need one treatment. However, depending on the degree of laxity and collagen-building process, some may benefit from additional treatments. Since the aging process never stops annual touch up treatments can prolong their results.
Is there any downtime?
There is no downtime with Ultherapy. You are able to resume all your normal activities and skin care regimen at home.
When will I see results?
You may see some initial effects from the treatment right away but generally the ultimate results will take place over 2-3 months and up to 6-9 months.

Are you ready for the latest FDA cleared, non invasive procedure that is going to help lifting your skin??
Well Ultherapy is here and its bringing in many clients to the Paragon Plastic Surgery and Med Spa.
So what is exactly is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is a procedure used to lift the skin. It can lift the skin under the chin, eyebrow and neck! Using focused ultrasound imaging it helps incite the growth of collagen. Ultherapy ultrasound focuses on top layer of the skin as it would when going through surgery although this does not involve any cutting whatsoever!
There is no pain during the procedure When performed correctly.   Some patients can experience some discomfort which  subsides when the treatment has been completed.  Ultherapy generates a reaction in the skin which kickstarts the production of new collagen which replaces the old.  Some patients may notice the difference immediately after their treatment, but results in general are visible within a 2 to 3 month period.
People with maturing skin are great candidates for Ultherapy.   Ultherapy does not take place of a face lift or neck lift but it helps the people that aren’t quite ready to go in for surgery. Ultherapy is also great for people who want to stay ahead of the game. Who wouldn’t want to stay looking young longer? Hurry in to The Paragon Plastic Surgery and Med Spa and start looking young again!
