State of the Art Technology: Dramatic, Trusted Results

ClearLift™, formerly known as Pixel Q-switch, is a virtually painless, non-ablative approach to laser skin resurfacing. Using 1064nm Q-Switched laser technology, patients are enjoying fast, comfortable treatments with visible results and no downtime.

Used exclusively with the Harmony XL, ClearLift represents a new alternative to traditional laser skin resurfacing and laser skin surgery

ClearLift improves fine lines, wrinkles, the appearance of small veins and redness caused by vascularity. It is gentle enough to treat areas that are typically too sensitive to treat with traditional ablative lasers, such as the delicate skin around the eyes, neck, mouth and chest.
Alma Laser’s ClearLift delivers a controlled dermal wound without harming the overlying epidermis so that all stages of healing and skin repair occur under the intact epidermis.
Because ClearLift heats deep beneath the skin (up to 3mm in depth) no numbing is required prior to treatment and all skin healing happens without damaging the outer layer of skin.

LaserCap® in Elle Magazine

Small enough to hide under any Eugenia Kim beret, the diode-laced LaserCap delivers a low-level laser light proven to increase the cellular energy produced in mitochondria, enhancing growth.
“It’s virtually identical to the treatments we used to give in the office using a $100,000 machine,” Bauman says of the effective (but pricey, at $3,000) chapeau.
After 30-minute sessions every other day, “Most people will have a 15 to 30 percent improvement in hair mass in the weaker zones within 90 days.”

ELLE’s annual roundup of age-defying breakthroughs will have you looking better than your #flashbackfriday from head to toe, but here, we’re focusing on hair products particularly. Because as too many of us know, it’s not just your skin that can age you, and it’s not just guys that have thinning hair problems. Below, our favorite shortcuts to thicker, longer hair, from serums to foams to laser treatments.
Turn Up the Volume
“It’s easier to hold on to hair than to regrow it, so I get patients into treatment as early as possible,” says dermatologist Nicole Rogers, MD. Minoxidil, the derm world’s favorite OTC hair-loss medication, can now be found in more than just Rogaine. “Major hair product companies are realizing how important minoxidil is to women,” says Rogers of the ingredient, which works by making the hair follicle wider and sparking regrowth within six months of use. Meanwhile, we can thank the car industry for a short-term fix. L’Oréal Paris Volume Filler Fiber Amplifying Concentrate contains a thickening agent inspired by the technology used to fix cracked windshields. The brand’s patented Filloxane molecule changes from a liquid to a solid, penetrating the hair fiber and immediately plumping it from within.
Self-Service
Platelet-rich-plasma (PRP) hair-growth treatments—during which a patient’s blood is processed via centrifuge to concentrate the plasma, then shallowly syringed into the scalp—are getting a boost with human placental tissue. Hair restoration specialists inject a patient’s own blood and removes the platelets and plasma. On average, 90 percent of patients with early-stage hair loss will experience a 20 percent increase in volume and coverage.

Temporary ‘vacation breasts’ may be here by 2016
(NEWSER) – Offering women the ability to test-drive breast implants first led plastic surgeon Norman Rowe to invent the InstaBreast—a “lunchtime lift” offering “instant breast enlargement” that lasts 24 hours, as ABC News puts it. Now he’s hard at work on “Vacation Breasts.” The NYC doctor expects this new augmentation will last two to three weeks, ABC reports, which would work out for a vacation or a special occasion. Rowe isn’t revealing the chemical makeup that would be injected into patients, but he says it’s a saline solution with an additive that’s already used in medical circles for other reasons. Although Rowe is able to increase women’s breast sizes a whole cup to a cup and a half using the InstaBreast procedure, he wanted to prolong the experience, Medical Daily reports.
“Twenty-four hours is great, but it’s still just 24 hours,” he tells ABC. He claims it wouldn’t just appeal to women considering bikinis for their next cruise or sending in their RSVP to a wedding or class reunion: He says it would help women who are thinking of getting permanent augmentation to “see what the weight will actually feel like and what it will be like to live with the new breasts.” Rowe says he’s been in touch with the FDA and anticipates getting the procedure to market by 2016. Guys might be able to take advantage of it, too: Rowe suggests they could use the procedure to benefit their pecs and calves.
