Laser 360 Treatment FAQ’s

At the office of Dr. Mark Bishara and The Paragon Med Spa, we encourage everyone to get the facts about any laser treatment or procedure they’re considering.  Here are some Frequently Asked Questions about Laser360iQ. Please discuss your goals with a member of our aesthetic staff.

Is the Laser360iQ laser treatment safe?
Yes. Laser360iQ has been used on thousands of patients across the globe with beautiful results.
How long will a treatment take?
An exact treatment regimen differs with each patient and will depend on the condition of your skin and your aesthetic goals. One laser treatment may take a few minutes and another may take longer. You may have treatments that involve more than one of the Laser360iQ technologies. Typically, a Laser 360 treatment lasts for an estimated 2 hours.
Do I need to plan for time off for the treatments?
Laser360iQ requires no extended recovery time. We recommend our patients 3-5 days of “social down time”.
What alternatives to Laser360iQ are available?
Anti-aging creams and lotions can be used at home, but usually provide only a slight benefit and must be used indefinitely to maintain even modest results.
Other laser and light-based devices work well, but they typically focus on just one aspect of skin your skin’s condition. Most important, other laser and light-based devices may not be suitable for your skin’s condition or your skin’s type.
How long will my results last?
Laser360iQ is the ideal procedure to eliminate the discoloration, textural irregularities and other signs of aging that make your skin look older. After the procedure you will continue to age and to be affected by the sun and elements. You may choose to return to your provider periodically for touch-up treatments to maintain the healthy glow that Laser360iQ can bring.

Laser360iQ Is Not Your Typical Skin Laser

Laser360 is a revolutionary skin treatment which is a perfect match for anyone who refuses the idea those fine lines, wrinkles, skin discoloration, or other imperfections of the face, neck and chest are just a part of getting old. Laser360 can give you glowing youthful skin again. Many lasers designed for skin treatments concentrate on only one aspect of aging skin.
Laser360 is also a great tool for people who do not want to go “under the knife.” In just 60 days the technologies of Laser360 can take your whole countenance from tired and sagging to young and fresh. At the office of Dr. Mark Bishara and The Paragon Med Spa, we offer Laser 360 to our patients.
Laser 360 deals with the issues of aging that our patients are left with such as:

  • Skin discoloration – sun exposure can leave reddish or brown spots on the face, hands, arms, legs and even on our chest and back.
  • Rough texture – The older we get, we tend to lose a lot of our skin’s youthful smooth texture. Our skin can be appear dried out or hardened in places that can’t be covered up.
  • Increased laxity – Once collagen production slows down, our skin loses volume and starts to sag. People can develop bags under their eyes and even a slight set of jowls, which can make a person appear worn out.
  • Fine Lines or Wrinkles – Fine lines and wrinkles that accompany aging can become quite alarming. Some might notice that their wrinkles seem to deepen and lengthen almost overnight.

The signs of aging are complex and not every skin laser is right for all conditions. The best laser skin treatment is one that takes into account all of the conditions listed above. Furthermore, each laser skin treatment should be tailored according to the patient’s goals and performed by professionals trained on the device. The answer is Laser360iQ and its 4 breakthrough technologies:

  1. NIR – Deep dermal heating helps regain a healthy, youthful appearance
  2. AFT – Pulses of light even out skin color and reduce the appearance of damaged or broken blood vessels. It also helps to erase other color irregularities in your skin.
  3. Pixel Er:YAG – Precision laser technology creates thousands of microscopic perforations and stimulates new collagen to improve your skin’s texture and tone and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles.

It’s important to ask questions about any skin treatment and cosmetic laser procedures are no exception. Consider these questions:
1.)  Do you look in the mirror and look older than you feel?
2.)  Are you spending too much money on topical creams that don’t seem to help?
3.)  Does your skin appear saggy in places where it used to be firm?
4.)  Are you noticing more fine lines and wrinkles than you used to?
5.)  Do you see more signs of aging on your forehead, cheeks, around your eyes, upper lip or neck?
6.)  Do you notice sun damage, age spots or other unsightly discoloration?
7.)  Do you want to revitalize your appearance without having surgery?
If you have answered yes to more than one of the above questions, our Laser360 can help you regain your youghful glow. It may seem like any skin treatment or any laser procedure is the right course of action. This is not the case.
Topical solutions like anti-wrinkle creams require no expertise and may be applied at home. Creams and topicals, however, must be used continually and may provide only a tiny benefit. In some cases the improvement might not be noticeable.
Other light-based and laser treatments usually concentrate on only one aspect of aging skin. Laser360iQ is tailored to meet multiple signs of aging so that you get the most from your skin treatments:

  • Laser360iQ combines technologies to address all aspects of aging .
  • Laser360iQ is non invasive and requires minimal treatment downtime.
  • Laser360iQ can meet of needs of patients with all skin types.

Skin is the body’s largest organ and one of the most important. To achieve optimal skin health you must understand the various skin types and conditions as well as factors that can potentially cause damage. At the office of Dr. Mark Bishara and The Paragon Med Spa, we emphasize the importance of taking care of your skin. We offer SkinCeuticals products and treatments to help you properly treat your skin, and our staff can educate you on the products that are right for your own skin type.

Breakthrough Scientific Discovery: SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic is proven to protect against Infrared Radiation A

Sun Damage and Sun Protection
Accumulated exposure from the sun without proper protection has negative consequences. The three main types of rays that damage our skin are UVA, UVB, and infrared rays, all of which have the ability to penetrate skin and cause damage to cells and DNA. On the surface, this damage manifests as fine lines, wrinkles, laxity, and discoloration, but the most dangerous consequence beneath the surface is the risk of skin cancer.
To adequately shield skin from the sun, sunscreen needs to be a part of every daily routine. Options include physical UV-reflecting ingredients, chemical UV-absorbing ingredients, or a combination of both, but the most important thing to look for on a label is the term “broad spectrum”. This indicates full coverage from the entire spectrum of UVA and UVB radiation, whereas SPF only measures the length of time one is protected from the UVB rays responsible for sunburn.
Research has shown that sunscreen alone does not provide adequate protection from environmental damage. The average consumer does not apply enough sunscreen, therefore only obtaining up to half the protection stated on the bottle. Second, sunscreens only block 55%* of the free radicals generated by UV exposure. Finally, UV filters do not provide protection from damaging infrared radiation. For broad range protection against all sources of environmental skin insults, it’s imperative to use a topical antioxidant in conjunction with a daily sunscreen. Our SkinCeuticals products offer eight antioxidant products that have been clinically proven to provide optimal protection from the damage caused by UV rays and other environmental factors.

Environmental Aggressors

Natural protective antioxidants helps the skin repair itself, but when it is hit with environmental aggressors, this supply is quickly depleted. Without antioxidant protection, the skin can be damaged in both its appearance and long-term health.
The main environmental factors that contribute to skin damage are sunlight, infrared radiation, air pollution, alcohol, and smoking. These aggressors generate free radicals, which cause damage in the skin that compromises vital cellular components as well as the cells’ DNA. When cells can’t defend themselves, they then lose their ability to replicate correctly- and the visible signs include fine lines, wrinkles, laxity, discoloration, and potentially skin cancer.

The Importance Of a Proper Regimen

In order to maintain and improve the health and appearance of skin, a proper skincare regimen is essential. Although the specific products depend on skin type and skin conditions, every effective regimen must include three fundamental elements—Prevention, Protection, and Correction.
To “Prevent” accelerated skin aging and skin cancer, it’s imperative to use a daily topical antioxidant. This targeted range of products prevents skin damage by neutralizing the free radicals generated by UV rays, infrared radiation, and other environmental factors like pollution, alcohol consumption, and cigarette smoke. Photodamage created by the sun is the number-one cause of accelerated skin aging and skin cancer. In order to prevent this damage, it’s essential to “Protect” skin with sunscreen. To minimize lines, wrinkles, discoloration, and other visible effects of past damage, we offer products designed to “Correct”. These potent skincare products are formulated with powerful ingredients and advanced technologies to restore a healthier, younger-looking complexion.
These three components ensure an effective skincare regimen for maintaining and improving the health and appearance of skin.  To properly choose a skincare regimen and proper treatments we now offer Digital Facial Scanning at Dr. Bishara’s office.  The Reveal Computer Skin Analysis System is computer imaging software that takes high resolution photos and demonstrates areas of aging and sun damaged skin. After your digital facial scanning we can discuss proper SkinCeutical products and laser facial rejuvenation procedures that would correct your skin conditions. At the office of Dr. Bishara and The Paragon Med Spa- we can create an effective skincare regimen that is tailored to every unique skin type and condition. Our staff can prescribe additional in-office treatments that make it possible to achieve one’s skincare goals. As if looking old wasn’t bad enough, a new study found that people find it difficult to read the emotions of individuals who have wrinkly faces. Researchers at Penn State University asked a group of study participants to examine 64 faces and rate them based on the emotions they perceived in the images. On average, pictures depicting older adults were rated as more angry or sad compared to the photos of younger people, despite the fact that every face photographed showed neutral emotions.
At Dr. Mark Bishara‘s office we provide a wide range of cosmetic procedures to help patients look and feel their best. These procedures are designed to improve the appearance of the face through minimally invasive techniques that provide highly effective results.
Why the Long Face?
The issue may be due to the fact that creases around the mouth and forehead may cause people to look as though they’re frowning or upset. There needs to be more research conducted to verify their findings, but they believe the results of the study are not due to stereotypes people may have about the emotional well-being of older adults.
This is not the first study to examine the link between wrinkles and emotional perception. A previous study conducted by researchers at Humboldt University in Berlin found that younger people had a hard time judging the faces of older adults, and often perceived them to have more “mixed emotions” than similar images of younger people.
An Argument for Plastic Surgery
This study goes to show that people who seek out plastic surgery procedures such as facelifts or Botox injections and facial fillers, aren’t doing so simply out of vanity. There are real issues associated with early signs of aging. Researchers pointed out that the issue underscored in this most recent study could put older adults at a disadvantage at the doctor’s office, for instance, as medical practitioners may falsely assume that seniors are experiencing sadness or depression.
Fortunately, there are many treatments that Dr. Bishara offers that can help treat wrinkles on the face and neck. Many of these procedures can be combined in order to achieve your desired appearance. While facelifts may be the most well-known, others may choose to target the skin hanging down under the chin by undergoing a neck lift. Also, Botox injections can treat wrinkles before they begin to form, while facial fillers can add volume and fill in deep creases around the eyes, mouth and forehead.  Our Paragon Skin Clinic offers many other skin treatments that can fight the signs of aging and help skin show a more youthful apperance, including fotofacials, Laser 360 and laser skin resurfacing.
